Warrington based Aberla M&E, part of the Aberla Group, has picked up the M&E package for The Press in Manchester. Aberla M&E will undertake the mechanical and electrical installation package for Domis Construction.

The Press, a grade II-listed building, has been a key part of Manchester’s history and will be preserved throughout the project as the building is reborn as The Press. The project joins a host of other new build and conversions around the Manchester and Salford area.

Located 2 minutes from Victoria Station, the project is a conversion of the grade II-listed Co-operative Printing Society building in Manchester City Centre into 66 New York-style 1, 2- & 3-bedroom apartments and town houses. Aberla M&E will be installing heating systems and ventilation, along with a full electric re-wire consisting of consumer units, security and fire systems.

Paul McCarren, managing director at Aberla Group, commented “The Press is yet another example of our successful relationship with Domis Construction. Winning this contract further demonstrates our strength in the M&E sector, where, through innovation, excellent health and safety, and a great team, we’re fast presenting ourselves as the go to building services contractor in the North West.”

Kingsley Thornton, director at Domis, said “It is great to be working again with such a trusted partner on The Press. The vision for this project lies in preserving the history that the building represents, we’re looking forward to working with Aberla, and it is reassuring to know this sensitive project is in safe hands.”
