Office Location: Warrington, National Based role with travel.

 

Key Purposes:

To support the PM and help manage and deliver projects on a national basis as assigned by the Aberla Group. The role is site based and is to manage and implement health and safety and follow through and to follow through on program of works set out by Project Manager.

 

The role will involve:

  • Advising at a site level at the project delivery stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives
  • Helping to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and safe systems to be utilised throughout project
  • Working to and maintaining schedules of activity
  • Managing the site development of the project in accordance with approved plans and targets set by the Project Manager
  • Working with the Project Management team implementing resource plans and procurement of resources
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including the use of KPI’s to improve project performance
  • Working to budgets set by the Project Manager and looking for innovative ways to work smarter and more efficiently
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications
  • Identifying and monitoring project risks and reporting them to the Management team in a timely manner
  • Taking lead on site and interact with the client, other consultants, and managing stakeholders at all project stages
  • Advising internal and external contractors/clients regarding Health & Safety and Environmental issues and risks
  • Identifying, planning and managing quality of work, safety, health and environmental risks

 

Performance expectations:

  • Projects are managed to high quality standards and are completed efficiently, on time and to budget
  • Project delivery meets the client’s objectives and is in line with the conditions of appointment
  • The Site teams is led effectively
  • Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
  • General line management responsibilities and first point of contact to all site teams and sub-contractors
  • Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon
  • The internal financial status of all projects is effectively monitored
  • Key information and data are effectively cascaded and appropriately retained
  • Being able to manage teams across the UK liaising with the day-to-day Site Managers on each project
  • Wide knowledge of NRSWA and understanding the defect process in order to evidence work when needed for local authorities
  • Being able to trouble shoot and work fast and efficient. Being able to clear blockages and in a knowledgeable way to allow the Project Managers to create clear cable routes for delivery of network builds
  • knowledge of the BT a55 process and being able to spot errors prior submission to the client

 

Competencies:

  • Experienced in working on major utilities projects e.g. Telecoms, water, gas, electricity
  • NEC experience is an advantage
  • Preferred experience in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Site safety and quality control. Carry out H&S audits. Confident in delivering toolbox talks. Ensure all site up’s/works meet NRSWA standards and are street works complaint.
  • Experience in new build trackwork as well as BT PIA

 

Qualifications:

  • SSSTS / NRSWA (SMSTS and NEC is an advantage)
  • IOSH/NEBOSH is an advantage
  • Full UK Driving License
