Aberla Energy delivers Solar PV to Manchester Leisure Centre
Aberla Energy has completed the delivery of rooftop-mounted solar PV to Onside Youth Zone’s Manchester Youth Zone East (MYZE) in Gorton.
The eye-catching centre will be a social hub for children and teenagers, providing them with opportunities to participate in a plethora of sports, with state-of-the-art-facilities such as a climbing wall, boxing gym, sports hall and outdoor multi-use sports pitch.
Aberla Energy surveyed, designed, supplied and installed 65 solar panels, which has the capacity to generate 18kWp of renewable energy. This enables OnSide to power the leisure centre at a lower cost whilst reducing their carbon footprint.
Mark Ingham, managing director of Aberla commented, “The work OnSide is doing for the region is phenomenal, giving the kids something to do, somewhere to go and someone to talk to. Aberla is proud to be involved in ensuring this facility is delivered for the community.”
OnSide Youth Zones are there for young people in deprived areas, where the alternative for many is spending their evenings on the streets or isolated in their bedrooms. This project will provide the children of Gorton with the opportunity to socialise in a safe and secure environment.
