Aberla M&E awarded contract to deliver Phase 1 of Salboy’s Castle Irwell project
Aberla M&E has been selected to deliver the M&E contract for Phase 1 of Salboy’s 500-home Castle Irwell project in Salford.
Salboy is transforming the Castle Irwell student village site, formerly Salford Racecourse, into an attractive new residential neighbourhood. Initial plans for the £120m development include 500 high-specification homes, three acres of public gardens and a new school, reinvigorating the local community.
Aberla M&E will work with principal contractor Domis Construction to deliver the new residences, including a mix of two, three and four-bed family houses and apartments. Aberla’s team of specialists will be supplying, designing and installing the complete mechanical and electrical package.
Mark Ingham, managing director of the Aberla Group, said “We are delighted to have secured the Castle Irwell contract. As our relationship with Domis continues to strengthen from project to project, the team continues to showcase our outstanding capabilities by delivering a wide-range of impressive MEP contracts.”
Located on the River Irwell, the contemporary new village offers all the benefits that come from living out of town, yet is only a 20 minute car journey into Manchester’s city centre.
Phase 1 of the 3-Phase development is underway with 157 units currently under construction as the initial completion date set for June 2022.
